Over 400 Flights Delayed and Canceled at Moscow Airports Due to Largest Drone Attack

Over 400 flights were delayed and canceled at Moscow's aviation hub airports amid what authorities described as the largest drone attack on the region, writes Moscow Times.
By 12:00 on Sunday, over three dozen flights were canceled at Sheremetyevo Airport, with more than 120 delayed for arrival and the same number for departure. Some flights were redirected to Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Cheboksary, and St. Petersburg.
According to Yandex Timetables data for the morning of September 20, cancellations affected flights to Sochi, Gelendzhik, Mineralnye Vody, St. Petersburg, Perm, Minsk, and other cities. Among the delayed flights were departures to Antalya, Sharm el-Sheikh, Cairo, Istanbul, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Yerevan, and Almaty.
At Vnukovo, 11 flights were canceled — both Russian and international, including flights to Minsk and St. Petersburg. 69 flights were delayed for arrival, and 60 for departure. This affected departures to Antalya, Istanbul, Samarkand, Batumi, and Yerevan.
At Domodedovo, one flight was canceled, and 27 were delayed. At Zhukovsky, two flights were canceled since the beginning of the day, four aircraft were delayed for arrival, and three for departure. The airport resumed operations at nine in the morning.
The Sheremetyevo press service reported that flights are "operating on a revised schedule," and the changes are "forced" due to the closure of airports in other regions. Similar information was provided by Domodedovo.
At 12:50, Vnukovo announced "the gradual restoration of normal operations."
