Tsikhanouski replied to Tsikhanouskaya: "Somehow it's not mentioned that our son's rehabilitation took place in apartments and houses that I bought"

Former political prisoner Siarhei Tsikhanouski expressed indignation at his wife Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's story about their children. He recorded a video address, in which he noted that his son Kornei's rehabilitation took place in apartments and houses that he bought, and that it was he who paid for his family's trips abroad and doctor's appointments.

It should be recalled that the leader of the democratic forces, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, gave a speech at a conference in Warsaw about the invisible work of women and shared how she dedicated ten years to the rehabilitation of her son Kornei, who was born with hearing problems. The text of this speech was published by "Zerkalo" (Lusterko), and subsequently by other media.

"We performed his surgery quite late; we lost a lot of time. And I dedicated the next ten years of my life to him and his rehabilitation. I remember that time of hopelessness, when you ask yourself a lot of questions: why did this happen to us, I don't know anything, I can't do anything, we probably will never recover, he will never speak. But every day I worked with him and with a specialist, understanding that this was now my job and I gave my all," Tsikhanouskaya recounted.

She noted that her family, specialists, and friends were by her side.

"My son had to sacrifice his childhood to become normal. And now he talks non-stop. I am incredibly happy. When people see my son, an absolutely educated and erudite child who non-stop tells stories from the internet, everyone looks and thinks: he talks, what's so special about that? Nothing. And only a narrow circle of people understands what invisible ten-year work was done. And I genuinely have something to be proud of. I understand that not everyone will appreciate this invisible work with my child, not everyone sees it," admitted the leader of the democratic forces.

Siarhei Tsikhanouski reacted to her speech.

"It is said that Sviatlana, by herself, alone, fought with her son's illness for 10 years and won. Unfortunately, this is a lie. Our son has not fully rehabilitated and has serious mental problems," Tsikhanouski stated to his audience.

In his opinion, Sviatlana's speech was an "answer" to the question of whether Sviatlana was a random person before the summer of 2020: "The Office is trying to convince everyone that she was a fighter. Just on a different front."

Tsikhanouski decided to emphasize his contribution: "The article does not mention that the rehabilitation took place in apartments and houses that I bought, at resorts, that the setup [of equipment for his son] was done in Warsaw and St. Petersburg, that trips abroad, visas, doctors were paid for."

Tsikhanouski called for not using children in political disputes.
