5,000 Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles to Be Installed in Minsk
Minsk plans to increase the number of charging stations for electric vehicles to more than 5,000 by 2030. The concept for developing the charging infrastructure in the capital was reviewed at a meeting of the Minsk City Council.
As of July 1, 2026, there were approximately 1.3 thousand charging stations and over 30 thousand electric vehicles in Minsk.
According to the concept, stations with a power of up to 44 kW, where a full charge takes from two to eight hours, will primarily be located where electric vehicles are parked for extended periods. This includes residential areas, territories near hotels, office buildings, and other public buildings.
Fast stations with a power of up to 170 kW, which allow charging a car in 30 minutes to two hours, are planned to be placed near major transport hubs with intensive traffic, at petrol stations, near shopping centers, and at park-and-ride parking lots.
Also, ultra-fast stations with a power of more than 170 kW will appear in the city. They will be able to charge an electric vehicle in approximately 10-20 minutes.
