Ukraine damaged five workshops at a plant producing components for "Oreshnik" and other missiles
In the Rostov region, five production workshops were damaged as a result of a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant (AOMZ) on the night of September 26. The destruction was recorded on satellite images, writes The Moscow Times.

Traces of fire and significant damage to two buildings are visible in the foundry workshop. The roof of the mechanical workshop partially collapsed. Workshops producing optics, as well as the assembly and galvanic workshops, were also seriously damaged.
The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the strike on AOMZ. According to their information, Ukrainian "Neptune" cruise missiles, as well as "Ruta", "Palianytsia" and "Bars" reactive drones were used for the attack.
The plant is part of the "Tactical Missile Armament" corporation. According to a Dallas Analytics investigation, AOMZ participates in the production chains of at least seven Russian missile programs. These include long-range air-to-air missiles R-37M, strategic cruise missiles Kh-101, and the "Oreshnik" ballistic missile.
For these and other missiles, the enterprise produces radar and infrared homing heads, flight automation units, cable harnesses, bodies, and switching nodes. The plant also manufactures components for guided aerial bombs and equipment for the aerospace complex.
Among AOMZ's specialized products are the "Vodblesk" navigation lidar and the flight automation unit for the Kh-101 missile. "Vodblesk" allows the missile to navigate in conditions of satellite signal suppression by electronic warfare means, and the automation unit controls the missile's systems and its steering surfaces.
Since spring 2022, AOMZ has been under US sanctions. Restrictions against the enterprise have also been imposed by the European Union, Great Britain, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand.
