Sudden Raid with a German Shepherd Conducted in Student Dormitories in Minsk

On September 25, police and prosecutor's office employees conducted a sudden inspection of student dormitories in the Kastrychnitski district of Minsk, reports the 'Minsk-News' agency.

The raid took place as part of the preventive action "Make the Right Choice". Dormitories of the Minsk State Mechanical-Technological College and the International University "MITSO" were inspected.

The main stated purpose of the inspection was the prevention of offenses among young people, the detection of possible cases of illegal drug and vape trafficking, as well as control over adherence to dormitory residence rules.

A canine handler with a service dog named Thor inspected the dormitory premises. The dog sniffed places where prohibited substances might be located. Security forces stated that dogs are capable of finding drugs even by a very faint scent.

During the current inspection, no prohibited substances were reportedly found. This is already the second inspection of dormitories this academic year.
