Over 3.5 million Belarusians currently live outside Belarus. The largest Belarusian diasporas are in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. This was reported on September 23 by Alexander Rumak, Commissioner for Religious and National Affairs of Belarus, as written by the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.

According to 2023 data, over 500,000 Belarusians live in Russia, about 440,000 in Ukraine, and over 180,000 in Kazakhstan.
Rumak noted that Belarusians ended up abroad for various reasons, but Belarus, according to him, continues to maintain contact with them. He emphasized the importance of meetings, communication, and assistance within the state's capabilities, as well as Belarusians maintaining ties with their country.
