To overcome social phobia, a girl from Gomel decided on an unusual step
21-year-old Liza from Gomel, performing under the pseudonym LIZKISS, has dreamed of becoming a singer and artist since childhood. However, for a long time, this dream was hindered by a strong fear of communicating with people. Three years ago, however, the girl decided to combat social phobia in an unusual way — she started singing on the street, writes "Mocnyja Naviny" (Strong News).
Initially, Liza chose the calmest and least crowded places. For example, she would sit on a distant bench in a park, take her guitar, and try not to pay attention to passers-by. Gradually, the fear began to recede.
Later, this path led the girl to a casting for a music competition. She was unable to advance further and received rejections from the jury. For Liza, this was a strong blow, after which it took her almost a year to dare to openly show her creativity again.
She did not, however, abandon music. Liza continued to write songs and release them on music platforms. Now she has decided to try another way to overcome her fear — performing on public transport.
The first time she sang on a trolleybus, she was very nervous. The girl feared that passengers would not react to her performance at all or, conversely, would react negatively. Liza wanted to give people a good mood and remind them about live music and artists, who can be heard not only through a phone or the internet.
However, the passengers' reaction was positive. People smiled, applauded, filmed the performance, and wished the girl success. With each passing minute, Liza felt more and more confident.
Now she continues to write and release her own songs. And the dream of performing on a real stage still remains with her.
