By the end of 2026, additional side fences are planned to be installed at new-type bus stop shelters in Minsk. This was reported by the State Production Association "Gorremavtodor Minsk City Executive Committee," writes "Minsk-Novosti" agency.
Shelters of this design began to be installed at public transport stops in 2023. However, with the onset of autumn rains, they have drawn criticism on social media.
Passengers noted that the structures do not adequately protect from rain and wind. Some also believe that the old shelters performed the function of protection from bad weather better.
"Gorremavtodor" reported that improvements to the new shelters have been ongoing since 2025. To better protect passengers from precipitation while waiting for transport, the shelters are being equipped with additional side partitions. Last year, 246 such fences were installed. The modernization is planned to be fully completed by the end of December 2026.
In parallel, the replacement of old and worn-out bus stop shelters with new ones, made in a unified architectural style, continues in Minsk. Annually since 2023, about 200 shelters are replaced as part of ongoing repairs.
In "Gorremavtodor," it was noted that from 2023 to 2025, 547 new-type shelters have already been installed in Minsk. Gradually, all outdated structures at bus stops are planned to be replaced.
