Stricter rules for tourists to be introduced on Mont Blanc due to litter
True, for now only on the French section of the route.

The famous Mont Blanc mountain range is suffering from an increase in tourist numbers: along the 169-kilometer route through France, Italy, and Switzerland, litter bags and toilet paper are increasingly left behind, tourists relieve themselves in nature, set up camps on private property, and feed wild animals, reports Bild.
Starting next summer, French authorities want to oblige tourists to book official accommodation in advance. Overnight stays outside specially equipped areas will be prohibited. Official campsites promise to provide water and toilet paper so that tourists do not have to relieve themselves in the forest.
Changes will also affect luggage. Tourists will be allowed to use regular trekking backpacks, and the transport of suitcases between campsites by taxi will be limited to specific hours.
The mayor of Saint-Gervais, a commune popular among tourists, Jean-Marc Peillex, emphasizes: there is no intention to close access to Mont Blanc — the goal is to limit the consequences of mass tourism.
The new rules have already been supported by seven French municipalities. However, some mayors oppose them, as tourists bring significant income to the region. On the Italian and Swiss sides of Mont Blanc, there are currently no plans to introduce similar restrictions.
