31-year-old Belarusian Yanina killed in Haifa. She leaves behind a two-month-old son
Her husband, Ali Maswad, is suspected of the murder. The grandmother hopes to take the infant to Belarus.

On the night of September 25, 31-year-old Belarusian Yanina Rusinova, whom local media identify as Yonit Maswada, died in Haifa, Israel. The woman leaves behind a two-month-old infant. Her 28-year-old husband Ali was detained on suspicion of murder, but he denies guilt and claims that he allegedly tried to save his wife.
Yanina's mother lives in Belarus. The woman learned about her daughter's death only five days later. Now she wants to take her grandson to live with her.

The tragedy occurred in Haifa. Her husband, Ali Maswada, himself called the police. When paramedics arrived, the woman was on the stairwell with a severe neck injury. Yanina was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but she could not be saved.
Police arrested the husband, but he denies killing his wife. Ali's lawyer relayed his version: Yanina allegedly injured herself, and he tried to save her. The man himself also had cuts.
"I tried with all my heart to save her," Maswada said during the court hearing. Nevertheless, he was kept in custody. The investigation continues.

Yanina was born in Gomel, and in 2017 graduated from Mozyr State Pedagogical University with a degree in "history and social studies teacher". She has been living in Israel since at least 2023.
Yanina leaves behind a two-month-old child. After her death, the boy was placed in an emergency foster family. The child's further fate is being handled by Haifa social services. According to Israeli media, the family had not previously come to the attention of the city's social welfare department.

Yanina's mother wants her grandson to grow up with her in Belarus. But it is not yet known whether the grandmother will be allowed to take the boy and bring him to Belarus.
