Controversial concerts in the Brest church, apparently, will no longer take place. Secular authorities are banning them
According to information received by Catholic believers in Belarus, the Brest authorities have decided to prohibit further Euphoria Night concerts in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, writes Katolik.news. As previously reported , these concerts generated massive enthusiasm, but also controversy and disagreements among believers.
According to the information received, the Euphoria Night concerts in the church became the subject of discussion at a meeting held at the end of September with the participation of the city leadership, ideologists, and the culture department. As a result, it was decided that this project would no longer perform in the temple.
As was conveyed to believers, such a decision was made, among other things, under the influence of the opinion of... the local Orthodox eparchy, where, allegedly, the holding of mass pop music concerts in a Catholic church is not welcomed.
There is no official information on this matter yet. The Catholic diocese and the parish of the church itself (formally only there could and should decisions have been made) did not comment on the Euphoria Night show in the temple, despite wide discussion among believers, and now also reports nothing about a possible ban on further concerts.
The Euphoria Night project is not announcing new performances in its public channels at the moment. When asked by users about new concerts, the band replied on September 29 that there was no such information yet.
