Subsistence Minimum Budget will start being calculated using a new formula
What will change?
In Belarus, the procedure for calculating the subsistence minimum budget (BPM) will change from December 1. This is determined by government resolution No. 490 of September 29, writes MyFin.by.
The subsistence minimum consists (for the main socio-demographic groups of the population) of two components:
— minimum sets of food products;
— non-food goods and services.
Currently, the cost of non-food goods and services when calculating the BPM is 83% of the cost of the minimum food basket.
And from December, according to the resolution, this indicator has been decided to be increased to 85%.
The BPM is used in calculating various social benefits. In particular, it determines child benefits, payments for caring for people with disabilities and the elderly, social pensions, as well as some additional payments and allowances for pensioners.
The BPM is revised four times a year. As of August 1, its per capita size is 530.37 rubles (+4.1% compared to the previous value).
