Russia will be ready to use nuclear weapons if NATO countries try to isolate the Kaliningrad region from the rest of the country, according to a statement from the Russian Embassy in Ireland.
"There should be no doubt: Russia will be ready to use its entire arsenal, including nuclear weapons, to defend its territory if NATO countries try to isolate the Kaliningrad region from the rest of the country."
The diplomatic mission also stated that "the irresponsible and short-sighted European political elite is playing a dangerous game."
The embassy referred to the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who said that if the West attacks Russia, it will respond, and it will be "a completely different and very short war."
