Ryzhankov: Appropriate steps are being taken for Lukashenka and Trump to meet
The Foreign Minister explained why the meeting did not take place last year.

Minsk is considering a meeting between Donald Trump and Alexander Lukashenka "in a practical sense," and appropriate steps are being taken to organize it, stated Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankov in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"We are indeed considering a meeting of the presidents in a practical sense, and appropriate steps are being taken for this," he told the agency on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The minister recalled Trump's invitation to Lukashenka to participate in the Peace Council, which was held in the United States last year.
"But, you know, a number of technical issues simply did not allow us to do that. And it's not about the American side, but about the fact that today it is quite difficult to get from Belarus to the United States of America, given the sanctions that the European Union has imposed personally against the president and concerning the flights of our aircraft," Ryzhankov added.
