«Ukraine gives you wings.» A Belarusian special company has appeared in the Ukrainian Naval Forces
A new Belarusian unit has appeared in the Naval Forces of Ukraine — the «Volia» special company of unmanned aerial vehicles. For the first time, command and officer positions will be held by citizens of our country. Nikita Zabuga, acting commander of the special company, told the «Zerkalo» publication about this. The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The «Volia» special company is part of the 447th separate battalion of the Naval Forces of Ukraine. According to Mikita Zabuga (call sign Axon), the focus is on working with strike drones, as well as air defense systems.
«We are building an elite unit that deals with deep and middle strikes, as well as air defense. Here, they acquire skills for modern warfare, which is primarily based on the participation of automated combat systems. Today, it is a war of drones, missiles, and artillery,» noted the commander of the special company.
According to Zabuga, all command positions (officer and sergeant) in the special company will be held by Belarusians. He emphasizes that previously there was no such practice in Belarusian formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Belarusians did not hold officer positions. Yaroslav Chernohor, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, also confirmed this fact to «Zerkalo».
«The Naval Forces of Ukraine have embarked on such an experiment. I hope Belarusians will be able to take advantage of these opportunities. Ukraine gives you wings,» noted the Ukrainian diplomat.
Mikita Zabuga did not disclose the exact number of personnel in the new structure. However, he noted that recruitment is ongoing, and the company has already started performing its tasks. Zabuga adds that candidates for the special company undergo a rigorous selection process.
«Volunteers face polygraph testing, psychological checks, and stress resistance assessment. We are not looking for everyone — we are looking for our own, who understand that freedom does not come by itself and must be fought for,» summarized the acting commander of «Volia».
