"He doesn't want to negotiate": Trump stated he doesn't want to deal with Zelensky
He stated that a peace agreement with Russia, if it is concluded at all, will be signed without the participation of the current Ukrainian leader.

US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Newsmax TV channel, stated that he does not want to deal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as he believes Zelensky does not want to negotiate with Russia. He called the repelling of the attack on Kyiv at the beginning of the full-scale invasion luck, writes "Ukrainska Pravda".
According to Trump, Zelensky is allegedly "not the person we should be dealing with." He stated that a peace agreement with Russia, if it is concluded at all, will be signed without the participation of the current Ukrainian leader.
"He doesn't want to negotiate. He says he wants to negotiate, but that's not true. No, I'm not a big fan of Zelensky," the US president said.
Trump also stated that the root cause of the war was Barack Obama's presidency, during which Ukraine was allegedly "forced to give up Crimea."
The head of the White House called the temporarily occupied peninsula "the most beautiful piece of land," surrounded by ocean on all sides.
"Crimea is, without a doubt, the most valuable part of Ukraine. Ocean on four sides. That's right. The most beautiful piece of land. I'm a developer. I know... I definitely understand good land," Trump stated.
In the interview, Trump called the strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Russian oil refineries a disgrace.
"I want Zelensky to stop, and I want the same from Putin. Now, if you tell me that Zelensky is striking oil refineries again, all he achieves by this is increasing global oil prices. I think that's just a disgrace."
Additionally, the American leader attributed the defeat of the Russian blitzkrieg near Kyiv in 2022 to weather conditions.
"But then it was supposed to be a very quick, you know, a very quick war. And if you remember how tanks were moving along the highway straight to Kyiv, then, if the general, who obviously wasn't a very good general, hadn't turned right into the agricultural fields, thoroughly soaked by the strongest rains in Kyiv... then they (the Ukrainians), apparently... I don't know if you can call it luck or not, honestly," Trump said.
According to the head of the White House, Zelensky should make concessions to Putin, as Moscow has a much larger mobilization resource in a war of attrition.
"The truth is that Russia is a huge country, and Russia can lose a million people, and behind them are many more millions of people," Trump stated.
