Pro-Lukashenka Activist Who Insulted Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya on Threads Was Jailed
Belarusian courts now consider comments under someone's post on Threads to be the dissemination of that very post. Therefore, if the author of the original post is an "extremist", the commenter will be punished.

"Nashaya Niva" has learned the details of an unusual persecution of one of Lukashenka's activists. The incident occurred in a district center in eastern Belarus.
This fan of Alexander Lukashenka actively left comments on the social network Threads — mainly he wrote insulting comments on Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's account, and other opposition figures also received their share.
The person believed that in this way he was defending the interests of the state on social networks. But it all turned into a tragicomedy.
The activist was detained; security forces conducted a full-scale raid with masked officers during the detention and insulted him in the process.
As it turned out, a protocol was drawn up against him for disseminating extremist materials (Article 19.11 of the Administrative Code). The interpretation by the security forces is unusual. They argued that if a person has an open account, then anyone can not only view it, but also see who the person is replying to via the "replies" tab. And therefore, if he replies to an "extremist", he is thereby disseminating "extremist materials".
In court, the man tried to argue that he left comments on "extremist" pages with the best intentions. He claimed that even Oleg Gaidukevich communicates with opposition figures on Threads — including "extremists". However, the judge did not consider this an argument.
As a result, the activist was sentenced to 10 days of arrest.
Now he is deeply offended by the authorities, but still believes that Alexander Lukashenka simply doesn't know what is happening locally. And if he knew, he would quickly put things in order.
