In Belarus, payments with "tsubli" and "dubli" have become more frequent
In Belarus, cases of payment with souvenir banknotes have become more frequent. Therefore, residents are urged to carefully check the money they receive.

Souvenir banknotes can almost exactly replicate the design of real money, their color, and the placement of inscriptions. However, in the texts, letters are sometimes substituted: for example, instead of "дзесяць рублёў" (ten rubles), it might say "дзесяць цублёў" (ten tsubli), and instead of "пяць рублёў" (five rubles), it might say "пяць дублёў" (five dubli).

Also, instead of the inscription "Нацыянальны банк Рэспублікі Беларусь" (National Bank of the Republic of Belarus), such banknotes may bear markings like "Souvenir money", "Сувенірныя грошы" (Souvenir money), or "Не з'яўляецца плацежным дакументам" (Not a payment document).

Souvenir banknotes always have a mark indicating that they are not real money. However, this can only be noticed upon careful examination of the banknote, which people do not always pay attention to.

Attempting to pay with souvenir banknotes can be qualified as fraud and lead to criminal liability.
