NATO Commander Did Not Speak of Strikes on Belarus in Case of a Russian Attack from Its Territory. This Was Mentioned in an Earlier Strategy
The Commander-in-Chief of NATO's Allied Forces in Europe, American General Alexus Grynkewich, publicly described the Alliance's new military strategy in case of a Russian attack on the eastern flank at the Warsaw Security Forum. In our retelling of his speech, we combined his statements with a description of previously announced NATO plans.

The concept called "Theory of Victory" envisages "defeating the enemy in three stages".
In the first stage, named Block ("Block"), NATO forces must repel the initial attack. If the enemy continues the offensive, the alliance will proceed to the second stage — Blunt ("Blunt the blow"). Its task is to deprive the attacking forces of the ability to advance further.
The third stage — Break ("Break") — involves the destruction of not only the attacking units, but also the entire military system that supports their operations. To do this, NATO plans to cut off supply routes, disable command systems, and deprive the attacking forces of combat capability.
The title of Nasha Niva's article "NATO Commander Grynkewich: In Case of a Russian Attack, Strikes Will Be Carried Out on Belarus, Kaliningrad, and St. Petersburg" was incorrect because it attributes these words to Grynkewich himself. Grynkewich did not say this in his speech.
At the same time, it was previously reported that, according to the strategy developed by NATO, if Russia attacks, NATO intends to strike Russian command posts and air defense systems in the directions from which the attack will be launched. If from Belarus — then on Belarus, if from the Kaliningrad region and the area of St. Petersburg — then on them. The purpose of such strikes is to deprive the enemy of air superiority and open the way for a counteroffensive.
The retelling of Grynkewich's speech, made in Nasha Niva based on The Wall Street Journal, was inaccurate. We apologize for this. However, the essence of the matter was conveyed correctly. If Belarus becomes a springboard for Russian aggression, it will also become a zone of military operations.
