Riviera Country Club on the shores of Minsk Sea is being demolished
This truly marks the end of an era: the Riviera Country Club, once famous for its parties, is being actively demolished on the shores of the Minsk Sea. Dancing, music, nightlife — such leisure activities were in great demand in the second half of the 2010s.
Now, in place of the former raves, there's a pile of rubble, writes Onliner.by.
Riviera Country Club is located 9 km from the Moscow Ring Road, right by the water surface of the Zaslaul Reservoir. It opened here in May 2016 and consisted of a large restaurant building, a small hotel, a marquee, and a pier. It seemed that such a location would forever ensure the complex high attendance and popularity.
Initially, it was so: people came here for corporate events, to the restaurant, to lie on the beach, to dance at open-air parties. Corporate events and parties continued into the next decade, but not as loudly. Time passes, and ideas about cool recreation change in the mass consciousness. Loud parties were replaced by more intimate gatherings, dances on the beaches by get-togethers in bars.
In 2020, it became known that the country club was put up for sale. A new owner was sought for $2.4 million, although the owners were open to a small negotiation.
The outcome of the search is unknown. The last online reviews for the location date back to 2022. For a long time, the object looked abandoned. And now, the buildings have been completely decided to be demolished.
The main restaurant building has already been razed to the ground. Next in line is the two-story hotel.
Information about what will appear on the territory cleared of the former development has not been widely publicized anywhere.
Judging by the data from the Public Cadastral Map, in 2024, the status of the land plot was changed to the following: "Land plot for the construction and maintenance of a tourist complex (first stage of construction), artesian wells for the object "Tourist complex, including the construction of a stationary cafe, summer verandas, organization of sports equipment rental and storage, watercraft, equipping a recreation area on the territory of Minsk district. I and II stages."
It turns out that a new country club, similar in functionality, will appear in place of the old one.
