Hero of Belarus Maryna Vasileuskaya gave birth to a daughter by cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky
An unusual family — both have been in space.

The first Belarusian space tourist Maryna Vasileuskaya, who secretly married cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky last year, became a mother this year.
Maryna Vasileuskaya suddenly disappeared at the beginning of 2026. This year, her husband Oleg Novitsky even attended events dedicated to Cosmonautics Day alone. And state media, when mentioning Vasileuskaya, used archival photos and videos.
Her official place of work after her space adventures became the Belarusian Peace Foundation. And to this day, Vasileuskaya is listed on its website as Deputy Chairperson of the Board. However, the woman also stopped participating in their events.
The reason for such a strange disappearance is quite prosaic — Vasileuskaya became pregnant.

Vasileuskaya now lives with her husband in Russia. As it became known, Maryna gave birth to a girl in mid-July. This is her first child and Oleg Novitsky's third.
Novitsky was born in Cherven, Belarus, but after school he entered an aviation school in Russia and settled there. After the collapse of the USSR, he received Russian citizenship.
He has four space flights to his credit; in total, he spent 545 days there. He holds the title of Hero of Russia.
The cosmonaut has two more daughters from his first marriage with journalist Yulia Novitskaya. The couple was together for almost 30 years; Yulia dedicated books to her beloved husband.
But it all ended in divorce. His wife even claimed that in 2022, Novitsky kicked her out of the house in the middle of the night in winter — she recorded an appeal to Putin asking to protect her from the Hero of Russia. Coincidence or not, but this happened during the visit of the Belarusian delegation (which included the future space tourist Vasileuskaya) to Star City.
