Russians struck a park in Kharkiv region. Five killed, including an infant in a stroller
A Russian drone struck the central park of the urban-type settlement of Nova Vodolaha in Ukraine's Kharkiv region. The attack occurred in broad daylight when the park was crowded with people, including families with children, reports the Ukrainian service of the BBC.

Initially, rescuers reported the death of two women and an infant in a stroller. Another 14 people were injured, seven of whom were children.
Later, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that the number of fatalities had increased to six, including three children, and the injured to 15. However, the National Police later reported five dead: three women and two girls.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a girl named Angelina, just over a year old, had died. She was born in August 2025. Her mother, Inna, also died in the hospital. The second deceased girl was 11 years old.

The café building in the park was damaged in the strike. Emergency services arrived at the scene, and paramedics transported the injured to hospitals in Kharkiv. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine called the attack another Russian strike on civilians and emphasized that the attack on children had no military sense.
According to Oleh Syniehubov, Russian troops attacked 17 settlements in the Kharkiv region and Kharkiv itself within a day. More than ten people were injured, including two children. Both critical and civilian infrastructure came under attack. Over the previous week, air defense forces shot down more than 700 aerial targets over Kharkiv and the region.
Russia continued to attack other Ukrainian cities. On the night of October 19, a 21-year-old girl was killed and people were injured in a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. Another person died in Irpin, Kyiv region, where significant destruction was also recorded. Two people died as a result of a strike on Kryvyi Rih.
On the morning of October 19, Russia also attacked Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk with "Shahed"-type jet drones.
