On October 1, Aliaksandr Stashkevich, leader of the Mahilioŭ rock band "Baron Munchausen," died, reports "Mahilioŭ. Media." He was 57 years old, and the band was 20.

Aliaksandr Stashkevich was originally from Bykhau. In "Baron Munchausen," he wrote music and lyrics, played guitar, and performed his songs both with the band and solo.
Aliaksandr's songs are full of philosophical meaning – "Aquarium" and "Picnic" in one bottle. The band was known for concerts in Mahilioŭ and for the TV program "Chetvertaya Studiya", where "Baron Munchausen" played live.
Stashkevich himself said that songs were born in him only from strong emotions – after an event, a meeting, a book, or a film.
"Something must profoundly move me," he explained.
Stashkevich particularly acutely experienced the departure of friends, and one of his best songs is about how fewer and fewer familiar faces remain around.
Friends of the musician promise that a tree named after him will appear in Mahilioŭ.
