Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is ready for war with Europe, although it allegedly does not seek such a scenario itself. According to him, if the confrontation goes too far, there will be no winners in such a war. Putin said this on October 29 at a press conference following the results of the Russia-Africa summit.

Putin noted that some countries are already discussing preparations for a potential war by 2030, and stated that he does not consider such an approach correct. At the same time, the Russian president emphasized that Moscow is ready for military confrontation but does not want war with Europe.
Putin also stated that, in his opinion, inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia by 2030 is unlikely. According to him, Moscow supports any steps aimed at restoring relations with Europe — both with the entire European continent and with individual countries.
Additionally, Putin stated that Russia would not like to see a situation in the Baltic Sea similar to that in the Persian Gulf. However, according to him, Moscow is ready for such developments and will respond to provocations.
