"The consulate informed us that a drowned man was found." A 33-year-old Belarusian has been sought in Italy since mid-September
In Italy, 33-year-old Uladzimir Aldokhin disappeared in mid-September. What is known during this time?

The last time the son contacted his mother was on September 10. He then informed a friend that he was in Livorno — a major port city in Tuscany. The man was online on messengers on September 13 — since then there has been no information about him, writes Onliner.by.
On September 24, Tatsiana talked about what happened on social media. The post gained almost 900 thousand views. Journalists found out what had been clarified during this time.
As Tatsiana herself said, she managed to contact the Belarusian police, the Lithuanian police (the man lived in Vilnius), as well as the Belarusian Embassy in Italy. A language barrier prevents her from contacting the Italian police directly.
Why did the search not start immediately? According to the woman, she didn't want to bother her son unnecessarily during his trip.
— He always traveled alone. He's that kind of person, self-sufficient. He is very literate, educated, intelligent, read a lot. He didn't need any company. He didn't drink, didn't smoke, didn't go to bars. His health was good, he was never sick, he was athletic.
— We called and messaged each other many times a week. But on vacation, to be honest, I didn't call him. He said he was flying to Italy. And I wished him a good holiday. I knew I could leave him alone for two weeks. I didn't even have a premonition that something was wrong. He is a computer specialist himself, involved with technology. And if nothing had happened, I think he would have found a way to contact me, — Tatsiana says.
Various assumptions were expressed in the comments to the post: the man could have been robbed, he could have had health problems, or he himself could have gone to another city. Specific cases were even pointed out — one man asked for help near a store, another ended up in the hospital with injuries. However, the mother did not recognize her son in them.
Many offered to help on the ground in Italy, but Tatsiana is wary of contacting strangers.
As the woman states, the consulate informed her that a drowned man had been found in the vicinity. To identify him, a DNA test is needed.
— At this stage, I am waiting for the results. The test is not done quickly, as you understand. Usually, its results are prepared in a month, but we asked for it to be done as quickly as possible. Our Belarusian police took my test. They said that it only takes 10 days for development. Then the results will be transferred to the Investigative Committee.
Tatsiana cannot go to Italy — she doesn't have a visa, and besides, the woman has never been abroad. According to her, to find out details from the Italian police, she needs to apostille documents confirming kinship — which also takes time.
