In a conversation with the Chinese leader, Trump emphasized that direct or indirect support for Tehran is absolutely unacceptable.

During Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping's visit to Washington, President Donald Trump warned him against supporting Iran, against which the US has been conducting a military campaign since late February. David Perdue, the US Ambassador to China, stated this in an interview with CNBC.
According to him, in a conversation with the Chinese leader, Trump emphasized that direct or indirect support for Tehran is "absolutely unacceptable".
Fox News also asked Perdue if this meant Beijing would stop assisting Iran. In response, he stated that Washington had received assurances from Beijing.
"We are already seeing certain movements in that direction... This is the essence of the commitment. Yesterday they assured us that they are no longer doing it," the ambassador said.
On Friday, Trump himself said that he had discussed the war against Iran with Xi, but did not reveal details.
In July, Reuters sources reported that Iran had agreed with China on the supply of up to 400 portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS).
