A new resident has appeared at Grodno Zoo — a young Eurasian Pygmy Owl. Unknown individuals left the bird in a box near the veterinarian's office door.

Zoo staff examined the find and determined that the bird had no visible injuries, but it was severely emaciated and weakened. The owl is now under the care of specialists.
According to veterinarians, the owl will need about a month to recover and regain its strength. Therefore, the bird will spend the winter in the comfortable conditions of the zoo. In spring, when the weather warms up and becomes stable, they plan to release it into its natural habitat.
