A residence for the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman will appear in Minsk for the first time in history. This was announced by Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi, during a meeting with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov at the UN headquarters in New York.
Oman's Ambassador with a residence in Minsk has already been appointed and is expected to arrive in Belarus soon.
During the meeting, the parties discussed joint projects involving Omani investments. In particular, they talked about establishing assembly plants in Belarus for Belarusian machinery for the food industry and the production of baby food.
Cultural and educational exchanges were also discussed. Tours of Belarusian and Omani creative collectives, as well as student exchanges, are planned.
The parties noted the growth of tourist trips between the countries and an increase in interest among Omani citizens in receiving medical services in Belarus. Separately, they emphasized the need to work on launching a direct air connection between Belarus and Oman.
