Young father from Karma convicted for Gayun. He was noted as a dedicated social worker
Uladzislau Biadniakou worked at a social service center and received commendations for helping people. But recently, the young father was convicted for political reasons.

Uladzislau Biadniakou is 31 years old. He is from Khoiniki. The man graduated from Francysk Skaryna Gomel State University.
For several years, he worked in Russia for Moscow delivery and scooter rental services, but recently returned to Belarus. He has a family: the couple is expecting their second child.
Recently, Uladzislau worked at the Korma Territorial Center for Social Services for the Population. As early as the beginning of 2026, during the celebration of Social Protection Workers' Day, Biadniakou received an honorary diploma from the institution's management for his activity and dedication to his profession.
However, this year Uladzislau was convicted for political reasons. The Gomel Regional Court found him guilty under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code — "facilitating extremist activity."
Most likely, the persecution is related to the Gayun case. The man was sentenced to home detention ("home chemistry").
Mass political repressions in the country began after 2020. At that time, Aliaksandr Lukashenka lost to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya but did not hand over power to her, instead forcing her to leave the country. Mass popular protests against the dictatorship and election fraud took place. The authorities responded with repression.
According to calculations by the "Belpol" union of security forces and human rights defenders, the names of at least 10,050 people who fell under politically motivated criminal cases are known. In total, various political repressions (criminal cases, administrative charges, dismissals, searches, forced emigration) have affected hundreds of thousands of Belarusians.
The Belarusian authorities consider "extremism" to be the demand for free elections with transparent vote counting, as well as practically any criticism of the authorities, pro-Russian historical narratives, expressions of solidarity with Ukraine, and anti-war speeches.
Numerous recent criminal cases under the article on "facilitating extremism" have been related to the "Gayun case."
"Belaruski Hayun" (Belarusian Gayun) is an OSINT monitoring project created in 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine through Belarus. The project tracked the military activity of Russian and Belarusian troops, relying on information from Belarusians. Its activities were coordinated by a group of activists led by Anton Motolko.
The "Gayun case" began after security forces detained an activist who had lived underground in Belarus for several years. On her mobile phone, they found a link to join the Gayun bot, which had been sent to her at the very beginning of the project's existence. The fatal mistake was that the link was permanent. And so, the security forces were able to connect to the bot and download all the information from it. They obtained messages from accounts that wrote to the bot, as well as their IDs and usernames.
