Former CEO of Grodno Meat Processing Plant Sentenced to Seven Years in Colony
Oleg Ivanov, the former director of the Grodno Meat Processing Plant, was dismissed from his position as director of the enterprise and prematurely removed from the Senate last October.
Ivanov was accused of receiving bribes in large and especially large amounts. It was alleged that from July 2019 to May 2025, he received money and cryptocurrency totaling 1.8 million rubles from five companies.
Illegal remunerations were transferred to the accounts and wallets of his daughter, who was unaware of the criminal origin of the funds. In return, the director ensured the purchase of food additives from the required suppliers.
The verdict has now been announced. The Supreme Court of Belarus sentenced the former director of the meat processing plant to seven years of imprisonment, as well as a fine of 5,000 basic units, or 225,000 rubles, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
It was stated that Ivanov voluntarily repaid the criminal proceeds and fulfilled other obligations under a pre-trial cooperation agreement.
The former senator was also prohibited for five years from holding positions involving organizational and administrative duties, and administrative and economic responsibilities.
