Abandoned manors and churches of Belarus will become locations for a new video game
According to the gaming portal iXBT Games, the domestic studio Qualestory Games has announced the project SHLYAKH — an atmospheric journey through iconic places of the country with minor horror elements. Recently, the authors tried to create a large-scale historical blockbuster about medieval Turov, but decided to switch to a compact road trip format, writes Domovita.by.

Instead of an endless long-term construction
A couple of years ago, the same team of developers already tried to create an ambitious project called Tales of Meadows. The idea was a historical action game about events in Eastern Europe in the 13th century.

The main character Philip, together with his teacher Peresvet, was supposed to return to Turov and enter the service of the prince, but instead of a flourishing land, he found decay, fear, and pagan rituals in the thickets.

The concept looked beautiful, but it never came to release. In September, the developers announced that creating a historical epic without a major investor threatened to drag on for another five years. Therefore, the team decided to opt for developing a small project that could realistically be released in the foreseeable future.

A Trip Through Old Churches and Forgotten Manors
Thus, the idea for the game SHLYAKH came to light. In essence, it's a classic road adventure — journeys across a map and gradual immersion into the surroundings. As the main game locations, the authors chose precisely the abandoned manors and churches of Belarus, many of which in reality are quietly living out their days in complete decay.

To ensure the journey doesn't resemble a boring excursion, the developers will add horror elements to the narrative.
The project has already received an official page on the Steam platform. The developers have not yet announced the exact release date of the game.
