The mother of political prisoner journalist Volha Radzivonava has died. This was announced on Facebook by her friend, artist Nika Sandras.

Journalist Volha Radzivonava was arrested in March 2024 and sentenced in December 2024 for articles in the German newspaper Die Tageszeitung, receiving four years of imprisonment.

The journalist was accused under articles concerning defamation of Lukashenka, discrediting the Republic of Belarus, inciting hatred, and insulting Lukashenka.
