Former minister accidentally caused a fire on a plane during a flight over the Atlantic
A KLM flight from Amsterdam to Curaçao had to turn back over the Atlantic Ocean after a power bank caught fire in business class.

According to Dutch media, the device belonged to former KLM head and Netherlands Minister of Transport Camiel Eurlings. He was charging the power bank from an outlet in his seat, even though airline rules prohibit using or charging such devices during a flight, Bild reports.
Passengers said that first there was a loud bang, and then flames appeared. The crew quickly extinguished the fire.
KLM confirmed that one person sustained minor injuries, but did not disclose their name due to privacy concerns.
The plane had been in the air for about five and a half hours when the pilots decided to return to Amsterdam.
Eurlings previously headed KLM, and before working for the airline, he was the Minister of Transport of the Netherlands.
After returning to Amsterdam, KLM accommodated 322 passengers in a hotel, and they flew to Curaçao on another plane the next day.
