On Academician Hnilamiadov's tombstone, his origin was emphasized PHOTO FACT
On September 17, a tombstone was unveiled at the grave of academician-literary critic Uladzimir Hnilamiadov, who died in November 2024. It looks very original, as it clearly emphasizes the region the person came from.
A part of the monument features an image of the Kamyaniets Tower — the main architectural monument of Academician Hnilamiadov's native district.
Uladzimir Hnilamiadov was born on December 26, 1937, in the village of Kruhel of the present-day Kamyaniets district. He always emphasized his origin from this region, took an interest in its history and peculiarities. The events of the trilogy he wrote at the beginning of the 21st century, which consisted of the novels 'Ulysses from Pruska', 'Russia', and 'Return', unfold precisely on Kamyaniets land or take place in exile with people originating from it.
Hnilamiadov is buried in the Eastern Cemetery in Minsk.
