Incidents

«In return, she offered an apartment for a day.» A Minsk resident told about a strange request in a shopping center

A girl's post appeared on Threads, in which she recounted that in one of Minsk's shopping centers, a stranger approached her and asked for 60 rubles for tickets to Mogilev.

According to the author, the girl explained that her and her friend's cards were allegedly blocked, writes Onliner.by.

In return, she offered help already in Mogilev — an apartment for a day or a session with a cosmetologist. After the refusal, the stranger left.

In the comments, other users began to recount similar cases. Someone mentioned a story in another shopping center, where money was also requested «for a ticket to Mogilev» and problems with cards were mentioned.

Another girl recounted a similar incident. According to her, back in January, a stranger approached her with the same story — money was needed for the trip to Mogilev.

At that time, she was with a friend in the Green City shopping center. A girl approached them and introduced herself as Snyazhana.

— She was very well dressed, looked cultured. Tanned, approximately 1.65 meters tall. She said that she came to Minsk with a friend from Mogilev, but she herself lost her card, and her friend had no money, and they needed money for two tickets, — recalls the reader. — The story was 90% similar to the post on Threads.

Snyazhana (if that's her real name) asked for 60 rubles and offered to show documents, exchange contacts, and transfer the sum after returning home.

— I am a kind, compassionate person, and at some point, I believed that the person really needed help.

The reader's friend immediately refused to give money, but she herself decided to help, so they went to the ATM.

— I no longer remember exactly what sum I gave her — either 30 or 40 rubles. While we were walking to the ATM, she recounted that she worked either in a beauty salon or a hairdressing salon and offered to contact her if help was needed in Mogilev. There was, so to speak, active brainwashing.

The girl did not call back, but a few days later, the reader herself contacted her.

— Surprisingly, she picked up the phone, I asked when she would return the money. She said that, as it turns out, she hadn't lost her card, but it had been stolen. A police report has been filed, an investigation is underway, and as soon as everything is resolved, she will call back.

As in many other stories we have written about, no one called back and the money was not returned. The reader did not contact the police — as is often the case in such situations, few want to waste their time, especially when the amount is not that significant.

— The sum was small, so I decided not to pursue it and just let the situation go.
