Borisov Political Prisoners Salash and Babitsky Sentenced to Five Years in Penal Colony for Art Space 'Sklad Butylek'
On September 14, a verdict was delivered in the case of the 'Sklad Butylek' (Bottle Warehouse) art space in Borisov. Political prisoners Siarhei Salash and Zmitser Babitsky were sentenced to five years in a reinforced-regime penal colony. In addition, they were each fined 800 basic units (36,000 rubles). The court also ruled to compensate for 'income obtained by criminal means' on a large scale, writes Viasna.

Public figure Siarhei Salash from Borisov was detained on November 12, 2025. For a long time, it was unknown which case he was detained under. Previously, he participated in election campaigns, ran for deputy, and collected signatures for opposition candidates. In the 2010s, he stepped away from politics and focused solely on business and public activities.
In early December, the KGB declared the 'Sklad Butylek' (Bottle Warehouse) initiative in Borisov an 'extremist formation'. Among those named as involved were Siarhei Salash and Zmitser Babitsky. The latter was detained on December 12, 2025. Since then, both men have been in custody.
