Siarhei Salash is a well-known public figure and activist in the Minsk region, with 20 years of experience in public activities.
Journalist Zmitser Pankavets reported his detention.
"On November 12, my good friend Siarhei Salash was arrested in Barysaŭ by KGB officers. I cannot provide more information at this time," his friend Zmitser Pankavets wrote on Facebook.
"Many of you also know Serzhuk well. Salash's relatives are currently in a very difficult situation. If you wish to help them, please write to me, and I will tell you how you can do so," the journalist added.
Last week, the KGB designated the initiative "Sklad Butylek" (Bottle Warehouse) as an "extremist formation." Among those named as being involved in it was Siarhei Salash. The KGB also stated that Valiantsin Bakhtsinau, Dzmitry Babitski, Aliaksandra Vishneuskaya, Anastasiya Tsereshka, Valeryia Bielskaya, Yury Dushyn, Volha Stralukouskaya, Kiryl Skabeika, Dzmitry Kavalyonak, Siarhei Statkevich are linked to the initiative.
