According to data from the end of August 2026, 29.7 thousand foreigners are covered by social insurance in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Among them, the largest number are citizens of Belarus — 13.7 thousand, followed by Ukrainians (9.0 thousand), writes Most.
Among all voivodeships in Poland, Podlaskie (with its capital in Białystok) is the only one where there are more Belarusians than Ukrainians. Citizens of the Philippines (816), Colombia (733), and Georgia (638) also work here.
According to the Office for Foreigners, 12,000 Belarusian citizens have residence permits in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The second largest Belarusian diaspora in Poland resides here — more Belarusians are only in the central Mazovian Voivodeship, where Warsaw is located.
