Swiss court finds ex-SOBR fighter Haravski guilty of kidnapping Anatol Krasouski
He was acquitted in the case of the disappearance of Yury Zakharanka, writes DW Belarus.

The district court of St. Gallen, Switzerland, has concluded that the ex-SOBR fighter is guilty of kidnapping Anatol Krasouski, reports the human rights organization Trial International. For this, he was given a two-year suspended sentence.
In the case of the disappearance of Yury Zakharanka, the acquittal was upheld.
Today, the Cantonal Court of St. Gallen in Switzerland was scheduled to announce its decision on the appeal in the case of Yury Haravski — a former fighter of the Belarusian SOBR, who confessed several years ago to involvement in the kidnapping of three Belarusian regime opponents in 1999.
The individuals in question are former Minister of Internal Affairs Yury Zakharanka, former Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Hanchar, and businessman Anatol Krasouski. All three disappeared under unexplained circumstances, and their fate remains unknown to this day.
In 2023, the court of first instance acquitted Haravski, deeming that his involvement in the crimes had not been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Relatives of the disappeared appealed this decision and are seeking a conviction.
The appeal hearing took place on September 22, 2026.
