He surpassed Flávio Bolsonaro by three and a half percent and became the first president to win after a defeat in the first round.

The current leader of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, won the second round of the presidential elections, securing 51.79% of the votes. This is according to data from the country's Superior Electoral Court (TSE) after 100% of the ballots were processed.
His opponent, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party, received 48.21% of the votes. Initially, Bolsonaro was ahead of Lula da Silva by a margin of 1% during the vote count.
64,256,232 voters cast their ballots for Lula da Silva, while 59,826,041 voted for Bolsonaro. The difference between the candidates was about 4.43 million votes.
Lula da Silva became the first presidential candidate in Brazil to achieve a final victory after a defeat in the first round.
Flávio Bolsonaro refused to acknowledge the election results.
Lula had previously served as president of Brazil from 2003 to 2010, and later spent a year and a half in prison on corruption charges. In 2021, the country's Supreme Court fully acquitted him, and in January 2023, he began his third presidential term, having defeated Jair Bolsonaro.
