28-year-old man in Pruzhany district died from electric shock

He was working with an electric welding machine.

A resident of Pruzhany district was working on his backyard plot and sustained a fatal injury from an electric shock. Forensic medical experts confirmed that the cause of death was electrocution.

The man was working in the yard of his house with an electric welding machine. At some point, he received an electric shock to his leg, but did not stop working, reports the State Committee of Forensic Examinations.

During the examination, it was established that the electrical extension cord was homemade and had operational defects, and its use in such a condition is dangerous due to the possibility of electric shock.

Upon examination of the welding machine, operational defects were observed, as well as changes in the equipment's design: the device's handle had been replaced with a metal one, which creates a risk of electric shock.
