Six-year-old Timur Kuzmitski from Hrodna, a ward of the liquidated KinderVita fund, has died. More than 150,000 euros were raised for his treatment
On the morning of November 3, six-year-old Timur Kuzmitski from Hrodna, who had been battling an oncological disease for several years, passed away. In 2024, more than 150,000 euros were raised for the boy's treatment in Germany. After surgery and chemotherapy, Timur went into remission, but in the autumn of 2025, the disease returned. The boy's death was reported on the Onkodeti Instagram account, writes Hrodna.life.

“This morning, the little heart of our Timurichka stopped… A boy with an incredible smile, for whose life we fought for so long. We believed, hoped, and waited for good news until the very end. Timurichka, we will forever remember you like this – bright, kind, with that sincere smile,” the publication states.
Over 150,000 Euros Raised for Timur's Treatment in a Week
Timur Kuzmitski was born on November 7, 2019. In March 2024, when the boy was four years old, an urgent fundraiser was announced for his treatment at the University Hospital Rostock in Germany.
Timur was diagnosed with a malignant tumor of the right kidney, stage four, with metastases in the lungs. 153,651 euros were required for the surgery and subsequent treatment. The money needed to be raised quickly, and the fundraiser was successfully completed. The parents then thanked everyone who helped the family, and the volunteers of the KinderVita charitable foundation.
In April 2024, Timur arrived in Germany. He underwent a complex eight-hour operation to remove the tumor and the damaged kidney. After that, the boy continued treatment, including courses of chemotherapy.
In March 2025, doctors informed the family about remission. Timur rang a special bell, which in the clinic marks the completion of active treatment.
Subsequent examinations also showed good results. However, in October 2025, Timur's mother reported that new metastases were again detected in her son's lungs.
The boy was prescribed high-dose chemotherapy. The treatment was accompanied by complications, including leg thrombosis.
In March 2026, volunteers reported that after further courses of chemotherapy, no lung metastases were detected during examinations. However, doctors continued to observe changes on head MRI. For further treatment, bone marrow transplantation and radiation therapy were planned.
No further stages of treatment were reported — at this time, Belarusian authorities liquidated the fund that was helping the boy and his family.

Timur Was Helped by the KinderVita Fund, Which Was Liquidated in Belarus
Timur was one of the wards of the KinderVita charitable foundation. The organization helped children with oncological and other severe diseases: it conducted fundraisers for treatment, purchased medicines and special nutrition, and supported families.
In March 2026, Belarusian authorities liquidated KinderVita. The decision was made by the Main Department of Justice of the Minsk City Executive Committee. Representatives of the fund disagreed with the authorities' claims and stated that the organization operated transparently and regularly published financial reports.
After the liquidation, the team continued to help children in a new format. In July, volunteers announced that they are now operating as the "We Are Nearby" movement.
“We are still close to children undergoing treatment for oncological diseases and their families,” the volunteers said.
