In Israel, a network luring Belarusian women into prostitution was exposed with the help of a secret agent
In Israel, police uncovered a large international criminal network involved in recruiting and transporting women from Belarus to Israel for prostitution. A secret agent, working undercover in Belarus and Israel, played a key role in the investigation. Following the operation, Israeli police and prosecutors are preparing charges against two alleged organizers of the scheme, IsraelInfo writes .
The secret agent pretended to be a girl looking for a job. She contacted the Israeli leaders of the network, managed to gain the trust of the criminal group's leadership, and collected evidence of their illegal activities.
The investigation identified two main suspects who, according to police, were at the head of the network. These are 37-year-old Alexander Zinger from Be'er Sheva and 42-year-old Yakov Mirmovich from Eilat. Both had no prior convictions. They are accused of organizing the mass import of women from Belarus, pimping, illegal exploitation, and money laundering from criminal proceeds.
The use of an undercover agent was effectively a repeat of a special operation conducted a year ago. At that time, Israeli operatives, together with the Intelligence Directorate and Belarusian law enforcement agencies, uncovered a similar channel for supplying women from Belarus to Israel.
Last August, a Belarusian resident agreed to cooperate with Israeli police as a secret agent. She contacted Israeli prostitution organizers, who promised her a guaranteed monthly salary of tens of thousands of shekels (1 shekel is about 0.33 US dollars). The agent arrived at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv under the unannounced escort of Israeli investigators, collected evidence, and exposed the network's organizers.
Following that operation, charges were brought against three people.
