List of events in farmsteads where sound amplification is prohibited has been expanded
The Ministry of Health of Belarus has expanded the list of events in agro-eco-farmsteads during which the use of sound amplification equipment is prohibited. Changes have been made to the sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the maintenance and operation of agro-eco-farmsteads.

The prohibition now extends not only to presentations, anniversaries, banquets, mass sports, physical culture and wellness, and cultural events, but also to a number of other celebrations.
Specifically, this refers to calendar-ritual holidays aimed at popularizing intangible cultural values and folklore, thematic meetings and evenings of Belarusian culture, gastronomic events with local characteristics, as well as family celebrations preserving folk customs and traditions.
During such events, it is prohibited to use activated sound reproduction and sound amplification equipment with open windows and doors. Also, amplifiers must not be placed in open windows, on windowsills and doors, on balconies, loggias, terraces, and other open areas of buildings and structures, or on the territory of agro-eco-farmsteads. In addition, it is prohibited to place such equipment on the external surfaces of the walls of buildings and structures.
New restrictions have appeared against the backdrop of broader attempts by the authorities to regulate noisy and mass events on private territories. In June of this year, a draft decree by Alexander Lukashenka on improving the activities of horticultural associations was put up for public discussion. The draft envisioned a ban on providing services related to the organization of entertainment and recreation, as well as holding cultural, entertainment, and mass sports events.
The Ministry of Economy explained the necessity of such restrictions by numerous complaints about mass events held in rented dachas. According to the department, neighbors are disturbed by amplified music noise, loud conversations and shouting, as well as smoke from barbecues, bonfires, and bathhouse heating. This, according to officials, leads to undesirable interaction with neighboring land users and causes their dissatisfaction.
The Ministry of Economy also noted that if a garden house is regularly rented out for a short period, it essentially becomes an entrepreneurial activity that brings income to some citizens, but at the same time can violate the rights and legitimate interests of neighbors who expect a quiet rest on their plots in the horticultural association.
