Cole: Lukashenka to release 25 people in exchange for sanctions on "Lakokraska" and "Bellesprompaper"
"If all issues are resolved and agreed upon by both sides, additional releases of individuals and lifting of sanctions from Belarusian companies will occur."
"As a gesture of goodwill, Belarus will release 25 people. The United States, in turn, will lift sanctions from two Belarusian companies — 'Lakokraska' and 'Bellesbumprom'," said US Special Envoy John Cole.
He also said that the parties would continue to work on resolving the remaining issues.
"If all issues are resolved and agreed upon by both sides, additional releases of individuals and an additional lifting of sanctions from Belarusian companies will occur," John Cole stated.
John Cole himself did not know the names of the Belarusian enterprises from which the US was lifting sanctions this time. "Lakokraska" and "Bellesprompaper" were read out by American diplomat Christopher Panico.
