Lithuanian tried to smuggle a car stolen in Poland to Belarus

On September 16, at the road border crossing in Kuźnica, officers of the Podlaskie Border Guard Department of Poland detained a 58-year-old citizen of Lithuania who was attempting to smuggle an Audi Q8 car out of Poland.

During the inspection, it was revealed that the car was listed in the Schengen Information System as stolen in Poland.

The vehicle is a 2023 Audi Q8, estimated to be worth approximately 355,000 zlotys (about 96,000 dollars). The car was confiscated, and the driver was detained.

The case was handed over to the police, who will conduct further investigation.

According to the Podlaskie Department of the Polish Border Guard, since the beginning of 2026, its officers have already identified and returned to owners 12 vehicles obtained through criminal means. The total value of these cars amounts to almost 1.9 million zlotys (about 515,000 dollars).
