In Minsk, a young man from Vitebsk region wanted to set fire to a pensioner's car
A 67-year-old resident of Minsk contacted the police, reporting that an unknown person had entered the territory of his private house and set his car on fire. Officers of the criminal investigation department of the capital's Maskoŭski District Department of Internal Affairs quickly identified the suspect and detained him.

The offender was a 20-year-old resident of Vitebsk region who had come to Minsk, allegedly to enroll in a higher education institution. In the first days of his stay in the capital, he consumed alcohol with acquaintances, and during a walk, found himself in a private sector area.
The young man climbed over the fence into the territory of one of the houses. In the yard, he saw a MAZ truck and a Dodge Caravan passenger car. At first, the young man tried to start the truck, but failed to do so. Afterwards, he tried to start the second car, but here too he could not figure out the controls.
Inside the Dodge Caravan, the suspect found a gas burner. He turned it on, left it on the front seat, closed the car, and left.
Due to limited air access in the closed cabin, the flame extinguished, so the fire did not spread.
The detained man could not explain his actions. Criminal cases were initiated against him.
