In Brest, in mid-September, acacia bloomed for the second time this year. This tree usually blooms in late May – early June, writes Tochka.by.
The unusual phenomenon was noticed by local resident Zhanna in the Vostok microdistrict on Hrodzenskaya Street, and she photographed the tree. She noted that recently, plants in Belarus seem to be "confused" with the seasons: earlier in Brest, chestnuts and lilacs had bloomed again.
The reason for this phenomenon, according to experts, could be anomalous weather. In spring, when plants should have been actively developing and blooming, there was heat and drought. Due to the lack of moisture, some of the buds went into a dormant state.
When weather conditions later improved, these buds "woke up" and began to develop, but with a significant delay. That is why some trees bloom again in autumn.
Urban conditions can also influence the unusual rhythm of plants. Asphalt and concrete accumulate and radiate heat, so trees in the city are in a different temperature environment than in nature.
