US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine has agreed to stop striking Russian energy facilities. Trump announced this on September 14 on his social network Truth Social. He claims that this is a mutual agreement: not only Ukraine, but also Russia allegedly agreed not to attack the energy infrastructure of the other country.
"Ukraine has agreed not to hit Russian energy facilities. Russia has agreed to do the same!" — wrote the American president.
Thus, if this agreement is fulfilled, strikes on oil and other energy facilities in Russia by Ukraine should cease, and Russia, in turn, should refrain from similar attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
However, the statement does not indicate when exactly such an agreement was reached, for what period it is intended, or whether there is a separate official agreement between the parties. Trump's statement only speaks of the alleged agreement of the parties to stop attacks on energy facilities.
In his publication, Trump also linked the war in Ukraine to the rise in global diesel prices. According to him, the main reason for this price increase is precisely the war between Russia and Ukraine, and not the conflict around Iran.
This interpretation is intended for American voters.
