In turn, John Cole conveyed greetings from Donald Trump. "He fully supports everything we do," he said.
Participating in the negotiations from the Belarusian side are also Prime Minister Alexander Turchyn, KGB Chairman Ivan Tsertsel, and Belarus's Permanent Representative to the UN Valentin Rybakov.
Turchyn was invited to the meeting for the first time. This is a sign that economic topics will also be discussed.
"As you can see, our company has expanded a bit. I asked the Prime Minister to come so he could report in detail on the results of our previous practical contacts and how previous agreements are being implemented," said Alexander Lukashenka.

Panico is well-versed in Belarusian affairs, having worked in Minsk twice. In 2000, he was even accidentally detained on a capital street and held for several hours along with demonstrators arrested on Freedom Day.
Panico has a reputation as an excellent expert on Belarus and the region. His background is also indicated by the fact that he previously served as Deputy Director of the Office of Intelligence Operations and Oversight in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research at the State Department.
